EasyLife 365 Collaboration introduced major upgrades to guest account management. From automated provisioning to deeper synchronization with Microsoft Entra ID, you now have more power, flexibility, and compliance control than ever, all while keeping Monsta in check.

What’s new?

  1. Provisioning Actions for Guest Accounts

You can now apply provisioning actions to guest accounts in EasyLife 365 Collaboration. This feature allows you automate important post-invitation tasks, ensuring external users are properly set up right from the start. Previously, provisioning actions were only available for Microsoft 365 Groups or SharePoint Online sites.

  2. Assign Guest Accounts to Entra ID Groups- You can now assign newly invited guest users directly to a specific Entra ID group in your tenant. This was a frequently requested feature and helps streamline access control and simplify permission management for external users. It’s a solid first step! More automation options are coming soon. - This is just the beginning! More automation options are planned for future releases.

  3. Autoheal Now Uses Microsoft’s Sponsor Field - We’ve upgraded our autoheal capability to use Microsoft’s native sponsor field for guest accounts instead of relying on audit logs. This update improves reliability, ensures more accurate lifecycle handling, and better aligns with Microsoft best practices.

  4. Schema Synchronization with Sponsor Field- EasyLife 365 Collaboration now supports one-way synchronization from the EasyLife schema to the sponsor field in Entra ID. When a guest owner is configured in EasyLife 365 Collaboration, that information is automatically written to the corresponding sponsor field, keeping ownership aligned and governance clean.

    What happens behind the scenes?

    • We will review all guest accounts and overwrite the sponsor fields in Entra ID with the owner information stored in the EasyLife schema.
    • If no owners are configured in EasyLife, our new autoheal logic will try to extract sponsor data from Entra ID and assign it back into EasyLife. This completes the loop and restores ownership context.
  5. Support for Multiple Owners (Up to 5)- Starting August 1st on Production and 30th of June on Insiders, you can define up to five owners per object, an increase from the current limit of two. All assigned owners will be synchronized from the schema and reflected across your guest account management processes.

How these updates will affect you?

  • Save time with automated provisioning and post-invitation processes.
  • Ensure guests are placed in the right Entra ID groups from day one.
  • Maintain compliance by syncing sponsor and ownership data consistently.
  • Improve autoheal accuracy with Microsoft-native fields.
  • Increase flexibility and clarity with expanded multi-owner support.
  • Reduce manual effort and admin overhead.

Important If you're currently managing sponsor fields manually in Entra ID, be aware: values will be overwritten with owner data from the EasyLife schema. If no owner are defined in EasyLife, autoheal will try to recover data from the sponsor field and assign it back into EasyLife.
