Data Collection for groups and sites
The Data Collection tab empowers you to govern the type of data collected by the Create Wizard within the EasyLife 365 Collaboration App when users initiate the creation of a new group or SharePoint site.
The text boxes under Displayname prefix and Displayname suffix enable you to define a prefix and suffix for the display name of the group/site. It's essential to note that this customization does not impact the mail nickname or alias for SharePoint.
Should you wish for users to explicitly specify a mail nickname for a Microsoft 365 Group, utilize the Allow users to insert a mail nickname option. However, exercise caution and reserve this option for specific use cases. We advocate for employing a naming convention or adhering to the default behavior whenever feasible.
Moreover, with the Let users choose the Site Address option, users gain authority over selecting the path for the SharePoint site, enhancing flexibility and user autonomy.
Metadata Fields
The Fields section facilitates the creation and linkage of metadata to your group. EasyLife 365 supports various input types, including text boxes, text areas, check boxes, and dropdown lists for data collection. For instance, consider the creation of a new dropdown list with the internal name drpDepartment
. The Label serves as informational content visible to users within the EasyLife 365 Collaboration App.
Within the options, you can define the available choices for the dropdown list. Users will encounter the text in the Text section, while the drpDepartment
will contain the corresponding Key
.
Webhooks
Specify a webhook triggered whenever a user modifies metadata within the Collaboration section of the EasyLife 365 Collaboration App. This functionality facilitates tracking changes made by users within an external system, enhancing transparency and accountability.
